PRESS: Marketplace Ozon said in talks to launch online cinema

MOSCOW, Sep 24 (PRIME) -- Russian marketplace Ozon is considering options to launch an online cinema, business daily Kommersant reported on Friday.

Ozon held consultations with several companies, including online cinemas ivi and Megogo and video service Viasat, managed in the country by National Media Group, one of the sources told the daily. The company is considering acquitting the white label technology from other video services, and in this case, the partner will become a technical executive of the platform that will look like an Ozon product.

Other sources said that Ozon may also buy ready-made platforms.

One of the sources familiar with the course of talks said that Ozon does not have precise plans regarding the project yet, and “the retailer wants to solve ecosystem tasks” and strengthen the loyalty program.
